National Football League concussion committee
The National Football League concussion committee was an NFL head, neck and spine medical committee from 2007 to 2010. Statements from the former co-chair Ira Casson on concussion and injury have received national attention.
== NFL research ==
In March 2007, Casson conducted a research stating that he rejected that head injury is linked with depression, dementia, or any other serious brain disorder. He told the ''New York Times'' that this research was "virtually worthless." He left the NFL in 2010 and has been called "Dr. No" because of his research.〔 Casson comments were also criticized by other sports physicians. His statements on repeated head impacts not causing long-term brain damage have been rebuked.
